Biography
Catherine Wiseman-Hakes is a speech-language pathologist and clinical neuroscientist. She is an assistant clinical professor in the graduate speech-language pathology training program at McMaster University, an Affiliate Scientist with the KITE Research Institute at University Health Network-Toronto Rehab Institute, and a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Brain Injury Canada. She is also the founder and director of The Compassionate Justice Fund (CJF), a non-profit in partnership with the Ontario Brain Injury Association. Her primary program of translational research focusses on youth and adults with traumatic brain injury from marginalized and underserved communities, and the cognitive-communication impairments that contribute to and exacerbate CJS involvement as well as further marginalization.
